In an era where political noise often overshadows tangible achievements, Hon. Dr. Edosa Richard, the member representing Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, has quietly but firmly redefined leadership by action. In just two years, his record of service speaks louder than the distractions of critics — a record grounded in education, healthcare, infrastructure, empowerment, and purposeful law-making.
Hon. Edosa Richard has made education a cornerstone of his representation. He rebuilt Oza Primary School in Ward 10, equipping it with six modern classrooms, two teachers’ offices, and a borehole for clean water. Beyond infrastructure, he has invested in students directly — sponsoring 300 candidates for the 2025 JAMB examination, covering registration costs and providing preparatory support to ensure they succeed.
Determined to make healthcare accessible, he facilitated the building of two new Primary Health Care Centres— one in New Era College, Ward 7, and another in EDPA Compound, Ward 11. He also pushed forward the co-sponsored bill establishing the Edo State School of Nursing, Health, Science and Technology, which has already scaled its second reading.
From markets to streets, his projects have transformed daily life. Over 1,000 solar-powered streetlights now illuminate Oredo West, including major market hubs like New Benin Market and Ekhiosa Market, giving traders extended hours to sell goods and boosting local businesses.
He has also installed solar-powered boreholes across six wards (Wards 6–11), provided clean water through repairs of dilapidated boreholes, and rehabilitated vandalised transformers at Utuyo Street, Ward 7.
Recognising that small businesses are the backbone of Oredo West, Hon. Edosa Richard secured interest-free loans for SMEs, distributed over 100 grinding machines and 100 generators, and collaborated with Double Val Communications to provide 75 youths and entrepreneurs with Android phones to boost their ventures in the digital economy.
He further strengthened commerce by constructing modern clothing bays in Ogiso (New Market) and Agbado Market, creating more space and better conditions for traders.
On the floor of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Edosa Richard has sponsored and supported several bills. His motions against police brutality and illicit drug abuse among youths demonstrate his commitment to justice, security, and safeguarding the future generation.
More than 25 youths have been employed into the Edo State Civil Service through his efforts, providing livelihoods and reducing unemployment. His facilitation of the asphalting of Adesuwa Street further underscores his dedication to improving road infrastructure.
In two years, the results are visible: better schools, cleaner water, brighter streets, stronger markets, thriving businesses, and accessible healthcare. His leadership model is not built on promises but on measurable impact, with every project and initiative leaving a lasting imprint on Oredo West.
“In the face of misguided criticism, facts remain stubborn things,” his media team noted. “Leadership is not measured by noise but by results, and Hon. Dr. Edosa Richard’s scorecard is a blueprint for purposeful representation.”
As Oredo West Constituency looks to the future, one fact remains clear: when leadership turns words into action and action into change, history does not forget.
