The Federal Government has granted approval for the construction of an airstrip at Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, the global headquarters of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel.
The announcement was made by the church’s founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, during the Tehillah Night Special Edition held at Covenant University Chapel, Ota, Ogun State, on Sunday.
This development marks a significant milestone for the church’s infrastructural growth and is set to revolutionize travel for the church’s leadership, members, and visitors.
The airstrip will allow direct flights in and out of Canaanland, streamlining transportation to the worship centre, especially during large events like Shiloh, which attracts thousands of worshippers from across the globe.
Bishop Oyedepo expressed his excitement about the new project, highlighting how it would improve travel convenience.
He said, “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members with their planes will have a place to land and park.”
The airstrip is expected to enhance the church’s operations, especially for high-profile guests and dignitaries, while reducing the stress of navigating public airports. It will also be beneficial for the church’s large events, ensuring efficient movement for international attendees.
Bishop Oyedepo used the occasion to encourage young people to pursue God’s plan for their lives, citing the success of Covenant University graduates as an example.
He proudly mentioned that several Covenant University alumni now serve as captains who fly him around the world.
“We don’t have an aviation department here, but they found their place in God and went after it,” he said. “That’s what this university is all about, it’s not about boxing you up. It’s about allowing you to locate God’s plan and pursue it accordingly.”
The Tehillah Night Special Edition was a thanksgiving event in honor of Bishop Oyedepo, who celebrated his 70th birthday in September.
It featured worship, prayers, and reflections on his remarkable journey in ministry.
With the approval of the airstrip, Living Faith Church continues its legacy of pioneering faith-based infrastructure, enhancing the worship experience and impacting communities globally.
