The Federal Government through the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Honourable Clem Agba on Thursday commissioned the only bridge linking Adeh village in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State with neighbouring communities.
According to report, the contactor (Name withheld) handling the project, said that while trying to maintain the bridge they noticed that the bridge was totally out of maintenance and as such there is a need to construct a new bridge that will alleviate the suffering of the community and that the people can make use of the bridge, this with no doubt was given attention to by the Honorable Minister of State Budget and National Planning Prince Clem Agba on the need why the people have to live a better life and to make the road easier for the people.
In the words of one of the community leaders, who does not want to be mentioned, he said that over seven years ago, the bridge has become what they use to fear which makes residents of the community and motorists not to have access to the bridge just because of the state of the bridge.
On his part, the Minister had to go down the memory lane to brief the community on more of the federal government intervention programs and the bridges that were approved in Edo State.
The bridge are Etsako East local government at Uzanu, which after completion, will link Kogi State to Edo State and the Adeh that was commission today at Ovia South East local government of Edo state, the Honorable Minister also took out time to inform the people that contratry to whathas being speculated by some people in the State, that the bridge was being facilitated by Edo State government, he has come to clear and to inform the people that the bridge was approved by the APC led federal government of president Muhammad Buhari administration.
On their part, the people took out time to appreciate the federal government and the Minister of State Budget and National Planning Prince Clem IKhanade Agba for remembering them even when they have lost out there hope of constructing the bridge, they also plead with the minister to help them to complete the ongoing construction of road that which after completion will not only open up the community but will bring investors to the community.
The Minister in his words reassured the Adeh community that the road will be completed in a due time and as such the federal government has set aside money for the completion of the road from Okada to Adeh community.
While singing, dancing rejoicing and praising the Honorable Minister for his kind gesture, the people took out time to pray for the Honorable Minister has he bow out in office in the coming weeks.
