A N100 million project earmarked for flood and erosion control works, including asphalt paving, at Harmony Estate within the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, has been left abandoned for over six months.

The project, captured in the 2024 Federal Government budget, was awarded to Techtap Consulting Limited under the supervision of the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority.

A field visit showed that while the road has been graded and drainage channels nearly completed, the crucial asphalting stage has been left undone, leaving residents frustrated.

Stakeholders are now calling on the implementing agency to provide clarity on the status of the project and ensure the contractor returns to site without further delay to complete the long-awaited works.

The project was expected to mitigate flooding and improve access within the estate, but its abandonment has raised fresh concerns about accountability and transparency in project execution.
