Fierce storm hit Saudi Arabia as landmark clock tower struck by lightning

Heavy storm and rain hit the holiest city of Islam, Mecca in Saudi Arabia causing chaotic scene and flood that disperse pilgrims who were doing the tawaf– circling the Kaaba – getting soaked and slipping on the floor.

A video showed a bolt of lightning striking the iconic Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower hotel, illuminating the night sky on Tuesday.

A photographer, Youssef Bajjash who witnessed the occurrence said: “As soon as the clouds began forming in Mecca, I ascended to a vantage point to capture the flash of lightning.”

“I was fortunate to seize the exact moment the lightning touched the Mecca Clock Tower, producing this awe-inspiring sight,” he added.
