Authorities have debunked claims that former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped before his death, confirming that he passed away at a hotel in Abuja.

According to a statement from the Public Relations Unit of the FCT Police Command, Mr Parradang was discovered lifeless in his room at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, in the early hours of 4th March, 2025.

The police report details that the retired official arrived at the hotel around noon on 3 March, driving a black Mercedes Benz. After checking in and making a payment of ₦22,000 for a night’s stay, he was later joined by a female guest. The woman reportedly left the premises at approximately 4:00 PM, while Mr Parradang remained in his room.

Concerned for his whereabouts, a military officer and friend traced him to the hotel later that night. Hotel staff accompanied the officer to the room, where Mr Parradang was found unresponsive, seated in a chair.

The Durumi Police Division was alerted and swiftly arrived at the scene, documenting evidence and securing the area. His body was transferred to the National Hospital for further examination, while investigations into the circumstances of his death are ongoing.

Authorities have confirmed that the female visitor is a person of interest, and efforts are being made to locate her for questioning.

The FCT Police Command has urged the public to disregard unverified reports suggesting foul play or abduction, assuring that a thorough inquiry is underway to establish the facts surrounding his demise.
