Adetimirin Yusuf Olamilekan, the Emeritus President of LASSESA-LASU, has recently completed the construction of a fountain on the main campus of Lagos State University (LASU) in Ojo. The fountain is dedicated to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recognizing his contributions such as covering the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and National Examination Council (NECO) fees for students, as well as initiating the One-Day Governor program during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
Adetimirin expressed his desire for President Tinubu to inaugurate the project on campus, stating that he has been waiting for over a year since his graduation for this opportunity before he proceeds to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Describing the fountain, Adetimirin explained that it features four lions, symbolizing Tinubu’s courageous and unifying nature across the North, South, West, and East regions. Additionally, two eagles represent his determination in tackling present and future challenges. The bust of Tinubu with a hand pointing to his head signifies his visionary and forward-thinking mindset.
The elements incorporated into the fountain symbolize Tinubu’s role as a pioneer of modern democracy and his vision for a greater Nigeria.
