Pamela Gordon Carty, former Minister of Health, Social Development and Labour of St. Maarten, has publicly expressed her solidarity with the President of Burkina Faso, Hon. Ibrahim Traoré, praising his leadership and affirming her support for African unity and truth in global discourse.
Now head of the Africa Mundus Caribbean Continuum and CEO of the Simply Masters Group, Gordon Carty condemned what she described as persistent misinformation targeting Africa and its global diaspora. In a recent statement, she criticised the international media for spreading manipulated narratives that, in her words, serve hidden agendas and stir unnecessary division.
“For too long, the African diaspora has been subjected to discrimination and toxic misrepresentation,” she said. “It is high time the world acknowledges our true history—one of innovation, rich civilisation and lasting contributions to the modern world.”
Gordon Carty also warned against the dangers of conformity and groupthink, urging individuals to reject negative social trends and stand up for truth, dignity and justice, even when unpopular. “Toxic behaviour reflects not strength, but an inferiority complex and an unfulfilled society,” she remarked, calling instead for a global culture rooted in respect, collaboration and historical truth.
She was particularly vocal about rejecting the ongoing portrayal of people of African descent as marginalised minorities. “Black people are not a lesser group. We come from legacies of kingdoms, education and excellence. It is time the educational systems across the globe reflect that truth,” she stated.
Standing firm with African leaders like President Traoré, the Africa Mundus Caribbean Continuum and Simply Masters Foundation are calling on global policymakers to push for honest storytelling and inclusive policies that honour the African legacy.
Gordon Carty urged communities to take personal responsibility in creating a more equitable future. “When each of us commits to doing our part, the collective impact will be powerful. Let us move forward not with fear, but with integrity and courage.”
