Governor Godwin Obaseki Ensures Completion of Ongoing Road and Drainage Construction at Adolor-Uwelu Axis

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has embarked on an inspection visit to oversee the ongoing road and drainage constructions at the Adolor-Uwelu axis.
The purpose of the visit is to assess the progress of the construction projects and ensure their completion before the end of the administration’s tenure.

During a briefing with journalists on Monday, August 5, 2024, Governor Obaseki emphasized that the construction work is integral to the administration’s commitment to decongest traffic and provide residents with access to good roads. He highlighted the significance of improving road infrastructure to boost business productivity and expansion in the state.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of the drainage construction, emphasizing the importance of effective drainage systems in preserving road quality. He noted that the completion of the drainage work has set the stage for the reconstruction of the Uwelu road, which will connect Siluko to Uwelu market and Powerline, further enhancing internal road connectivity and traffic flow within the city.

In addition to the ongoing construction projects, Governor Obaseki outlined plans for the construction of a mini-bypass aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the Ugbowo, Siluko, and Ekewan areas.
This internal bypass is expected to streamline traffic flow and facilitate movement within and around the city.
