Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has directed the reversal of all command promotions granted to civil servants between 2015 and April 2023.
The move, announced by the Head of Service, Dr. Ngozi Obioma, aims to restore normalcy, seniority, and the sanctity of the civil service, which were allegedly eroded over time.
According to Dr. Obioma, the directive is intended to correct the irregularities and anomalies that have plagued the service for years. The reversal of these promotions is expected to reinstate the proper hierarchy and order in the civil service, ensuring that seniority and merit are respected.
This development is seen as a significant step towards reforming the civil service in Abia State, and it is expected to have far-reaching implications for the state’s bureaucracy.
With this move, Governor Otti’s administration demonstrates its commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.
