Grassroots Backing Grows as Oredo West Pledges to Re-Elect Dr. Edosa

Residents of Oredo West Constituency have declared their unwavering support for the lawmaker representing them in the Edo State House of Assembly, Dr Richard Edosa, pledging to mobilise fully to ensure his re-election in the 2027 polls.

The residents said the lawmaker has delivered on his campaign promises and earned the trust of the constituency through what they described as people-centred representation and visible projects.

Speaking with Uptown Press at the New Market, a trader, Mrs Josephine Osagede, praised Edosa’s performance, describing him as the kind of leader every constituency would pray to have.

“Honourable Edosa is the type of representative every constituency should pray to have,” she said. “With him, we don’t have any alternative. Come 2027, we will vote for him again.”

She specifically cited the reconstruction of the roof structure at New Market, noting that traders had endured years of hardship before the intervention.

“For over 15 years, we sold under the rain and sun. Today, we have a proper roof. We thank Honourable Dr Richard Edosa for this,” Osagede added.

Similarly, an entrepreneur, Mr Gabriel Igbinosa, said the lawmaker’s intervention in providing him with a generator had helped him overcome persistent power challenges affecting his business.

“He has capacity and understands our challenges,” Igbinosa said. “The support he gave me has made a real difference.”

Across the constituency, residents echoed a common message: that anyone nursing ambitions to unseat Edosa in 2027 should reconsider, as there is “no vacancy” in Oredo West.

“The massive support and mobilisation we gave him in 2023 will be repeated in the same manner in 2027,” one resident said. “He never failed us. In fact, he performed well beyond expectations.”

The endorsements reflect growing grassroots backing for the lawmaker as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the next election cycle in Edo State.
