The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, has tasked Edo people to continue to live peacefully as brothers and sisters.
This was contained in his Special Easter message to Christians who celebrated the resurrection of the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Rt. Hon. Agbebaku described the moment as the climax with a joyousness after a season of sober and penitential reflection.
The speaker, stated, the good values of the Lord Jesus Christ who paid the supreme sacrifice that brought salvation and freedom to mankind,is indeed worthy of emulation.
He added, “it is with deep sense of joy that I bring you warm greetings as you mark the Easter celebration, may your prayers and sacrifices this season help promote and sustain peace in the State and the nation in general. I urge everyone to summon a new spirit of love, patriotism and cooperation in order to achieve our collective goal in ensuring a better Edo.
The state legislative chief noted, “Edo people are known for their peaceful co-existence, and we must not allow anything to divide us as a people.”
The Speaker wished the people of the State a most rewarding, renewing and refreshingly pleasant Easter celebration.
