The Member representing Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Edosa Richard, has congratulated Dr. Joseph Ikpea on his election as Senator for Edo Central.
Ikpea, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured 105,129 votes in Saturday’s by-election to defeat his opponents by a wide margin. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner at the collation centre in Ubiaja.
In a statement on Sunday, Hon. Edosa described the result as an endorsement of Ikpea’s leadership credentials and expressed confidence that the new senator would bring “transformative growth, unity, and prosperity” to Edo Central.
He highlighted Ikpea’s experience as a former Chairman of Esan South-East Local Government Council and urged him to focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and traditional institutions.
Edosa also pledged the support of his constituency, adding that APC lawmakers across the state would work with the senator-elect and Governor Monday Okpebholo to deliver effective representation.
