As the race for who occupies Owan West number 1 finest political stool continues to receive eupeptic attention, Hon. Ifije Aloje Augustine, an Eruere born politician and formidable youth mobilizer, has joined the race to render his services to the agric-rich local government.
Ifije Augustine, with Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the State’s foremost citadel of learning – Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, is a thoroughbred, fine gentleman and a celebrated manager of resources.
The youth mobilizer, who has been involved and made his marks in various party assignments given within and outside the LGA, became famous for his level of sacrifice and commitment to the party’s progress in Owan West and countless youth engagements.
Should Ifije Augustine emerge as the standard bearer of the party and ultimately wins the election, he is expected to harness the available green opportunities for the overall benefit of the LGA. According to him,
“considering the numerous opportunities around us, we are going to diversify into other economic ventures with a view of making the Council truly prosperous.
“You are asking what I will do when elected?
First on the list of priorities is Human capital development. If you watch the LGA closely, we are not there yet in terms of development of our people as isolated, put forward and designed by (HDI, 1990) in measuring our growth and development.
“Security is another major area of interest, by collaborating with state government and various security agencies in consolidating the efforts of our amiable Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki in ensuring lasting peace in some of our troubled spots.
“Not leaving out women and youth empowerment, improvement of primary healthcare system by giving them the needed attention to the various PHCs in the Local Government.
Yes, not forgetting those at the rural areas and the place of agriculture in our society. We have already put mechanism in place to link up rural roads to avoid unavoidable wastage of produce in our rural communities.
Ifije, had his NYSC at the Nigeria Air Force Tactical Command, Makurdi and worked as an Assistant Manager at AVL Concept ( a construction company based in Kaduna; before returning home to contribute his quota to his LGA.
Politically, he served as Special Adviser to Local Government, Special Assistant to the Council Chairman on Youths and Grassroot mobilization and currently the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Edo State. Council administration is not strange to Hon. Ifije Augustine considering the magnitude of his political and administrative experience.
