Hundreds of Thugs Storm Kano Communities, Burn Bakeries, Ward Head’s House

Several communities in Kano State were thrown into panic after thugs, said to be numbering in their hundreds, launched coordinated attacks that left residents injured and properties destroyed.

During the violence, the assailants reportedly set ablaze a number of local bakeries and torched the residence of a ward head, forcing many residents to flee for safety. Witnesses said the attackers moved from one area to another, wreaking havoc and causing widespread fear before security operatives could restore relative calm.

Those injured in the attacks were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while affected families were left counting their losses amid the ruins of their burnt shops and homes.

Local authorities and security agencies are yet to release an official statement on the motive behind the assaults, but investigations are understood to be ongoing as efforts intensify to identify and arrest those responsible.

Residents have called on the government to increase security presence in the affected areas to prevent further violence and reassure communities shaken by the incident.
