Prophet Joel Ogebe has weighed in on reports that a pastor was fined ₦50,000 for preaching the Gospel inside a commercial bus, declaring that spreading the message of Christ has always required sacrifice.
Reacting to the development, Ogebe said that if preaching Jesus attracts such a penalty, it is a price believers should be willing to pay, considering the sacrifice Christ made for humanity.
“If that is the cost of proclaiming Christ, then it is a price worth paying. Jesus paid far more for our souls.”
He maintained that opposition should never stop Christians from sharing the Gospel, urging believers to continue preaching with love, wisdom, and courage.
“The Gospel has always carried a cost, but it must still be preached. Jesus must be heard.”
His comments come amid public debate over a proposed bill seeking to regulate preaching in commercial buses and other public spaces in parts of Nigeria.
