The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled a mock accreditation exercise for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, as part of its preparations for the upcoming Edo State governorship election slated for September 21, 2024.

This announcement was made by Mr. Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, in a statement released on Tuesday.

The mock accreditation will be conducted between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at selected Polling Units across the three Senatorial Districts of Edo State. The primary aim of this exercise is to test the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the process of uploading results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal, using live voters in specific locations within the state.
