Labour Party Guber Candidate, Olumide Akpata Mourns Father’s Passing

The Labour Party’s candidate for the 2024 Edo State governorship election, Barr. Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, is in mourning following the death of his father, Dr.OmorogieVha Akpata.

In a statement issued on Sunday by Comrade Eromosele Jatto Peter and made available to Uptown Press, the Labour Party in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the State expressed profound sadness at the loss. The statement highlighted the significant role Akpata’s late father had played in shaping his character and values.

“The Labour Party, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, is deeply saddened by the passing of the father of our esteemed gubernatorial candidate, Barr. Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata,” the message reads.

“This is an incredibly difficult time not only for Barr. Akpata and his family but for all of us who see him as a symbol of hope and leadership in Edo State.”

The statement also acknowledged the lasting influence the late father had on Akpata, noting that his values, vision, and strength of character were a direct reflection of his upbringing.

“We stand with Barr. Akpata and his family in this time of grief, offering our deepest condolences and prayers,” the statement continued. “May his father’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength and comfort to the family.”

Labour Party members in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area affirmed their continued support for Akpata not just in his political pursuits, but in every personal challenge he faces.
