Mr. Marvin Chukwugezie Anyaibe has alleged threats to his life for choosing to marry his long-time girlfriend.
He made the allegation in a statement signed by himself and made available to journalists in Benin.
Mr. Marvin who hails from Abia State, the Eastern part of Nigeria, said he lives at No. 10, Arab road, Kubwa, Abuja FCT, and that he came to the Police Station to give a report case of life threatening towards his life.
He alleged that the threat all started from Sabon Birnin Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Marvin alleged that this rationale threat is coming from his girlfriend’s family due to religion differences.
According to Marvin “Him and his girlfriend have been dating since early 2020 from school, at first, the threat came with warning in 2022 but due to the love they both shared, they didn’t split up.
“Threat tolife increased more in 2024 when the family discovered their daughter is pregnant, Mr. Marvin Chukwugezie is Christian by religion and the girlfriend’s family is Muslim likewise the girlfriend, according to the sharia law in Sokoto State, Muslim women can’t marry Christian men and also it’s forbidden to terminate pregnancy, for that, the family threatened to take his life”.
Mr. Marvin further alleged that he had to relocate to Osun State but the threat continues and that he had no choice but to relocate to Abuja FCT for a better safety.
