A tragic incident occurred in Kano State, Nigeria, where a father, son, and another man lost their lives while attempting to retrieve a cellphone that had fallen into a pit toilet.
Uptown Press reports that, the 60-year-old man, Malam Danjuma, his son, Ibrahim, 35, and Aminu Gaye, also 35, got trapped inside the toilet and suffocated.
The Kano State Fire Service received an emergency call from Tsanyawa Fire Station and tried to rescue the victims. Unfortunately, three of them were already unconscious by the time they were rescued, while the fourth victim was still alive.
“Gaye and Alasan also entered to rescue both men and they also got trapped,” he said.
The victims were immediately rushed to Bichi Special Hospital, but the three men were pronounced dead on arrival.
