The Edo State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the tragic deaths of a woman known as “Mama Hallelujah” and her three-year-old daughter, Miracle. The bodies of the two victims were discovered in a locked room in the Ovbiogoe Community, located on Idiangbona Street in Ekiadolor, on the evening of 18th March 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, the police were alerted by a concerned neighbour who reported a strong and offensive smell emanating from the residence. Upon investigating, officers discovered the door to the apartment had been locked from the outside, raising suspicions. After forcibly entering the premises, they made a harrowing discovery: the decomposing bodies of the woman and her daughter. The woman appeared to have suffered a fatal machete wound to her head, while the child was found lying on the bed beside her.
Preliminary investigations have pointed to the woman’s live-in partner, identified only as Wealth Nnamdi, as the prime suspect. It has been revealed that the couple were due to marry on 29th March 2025, just days before the shocking murders. Since the bodies were discovered, Nnamdi has gone into hiding, and police have been working tirelessly to track him down.
Authorities have called on the public to come forward with any information that might help locate the suspect. “We are doing everything we can to bring the suspect to justice and urge anyone who may have information to assist us in this investigation,” CSP Yamu stated.
