Ahead of Sunday’s NPFL matchday 37 clash in Jos between hosts, Nasarawa United versus visiting northern counterparts, Kano Pillars, Chairman of the Solid Miners, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, has told the players to go all out for a convincing victory over the Sai Masu Gida.
Danladi passed the message to the players shortly after a light evening training exercise held on Saturday at the Jos International Stadium.
In his disposition, he said, “The game against Kano Pillars is very symbolic because it’s our last home game this season, and nothing other than victory will be accepted.
“It’s tomorrow’s game that will determine our status in the league for next season. If you look at the table, you will understand better what this means.
“You must approach the game as if it’s a cup final. This game deserves our ultimate sacrifice.”
The Chairman urged the players not be given to undue pressure as their distressed opponents are beatable.
“Never be under any kind of unnecessary pressure but remain confident and committed to the task ahead.
“Never accord your opponents any respect. Respect can come before or after the game.
“We have done our part as a Management to give you an enabling atmosphere to succeed tomorrow (Sunday), and the hospitality in Jos has been nothing short of serene for us.
“So, if you are given the opportunity to play, kindly give your best.
“Let’s get a convincing victory against them because safety is premier here.”
He added that a win over Kano Pillars would be an icing on the cake for him as he marked his birthday recently as well as befitting present for the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the good people of Nasarawa State and fans of the Solid Miners.
After the recent disciplinary ruling by the Nigeria Football Federation, Nasarawa United are now sitting on 12th position with 47 points while Kano Pillars dropped to 19th position with 42 points.
The Nasarawa United versus Kano Pillars’ game is billed for 4pm, local time, and will be played under closed doors in compliance with the League Management Company’s safety directive.
