The lawmaker who said the government can only be brought closer to those that needed government the most through effective representation, promise to be a voice for the voiceless and the vulnerable group in society by presenting the views and needs of the people, articulating their expectations and aspiration in determining national development agenda
Rt. Hon. Mark Esset stated this at the weekend in Abuja while feeding questions from journalists; he reaffirmed his determination to set a legislative developmental benchmark in the Uyo/Uruan/Nsit-Atai/Ibeskipo Asutan Federal Constituency through landmark projects that will enhance the economic life of the people.
The former Local Government Chairman of Nsit Atai local government council and two times member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly vowed to continue to strive in ensuring that his constituents have their fair share of infrastructural development and alleviate his people from poverty, avoidable hardship, and joblessness through massive skill acquisition program and empowerment.
When asked about his readiness to serve the nation the Akwa Ibom State-born lawmaker said
“As an experienced lawmaker, I will serve Nigerians through legislation, representation, oversight, and constituency–related responsibilities which are the four basic important functions of a legislature. It is our duty to keep an eye on the activities of the executive on behalf of the citizens, that is the only way we can hold the executive accountable and I can assure Nigerians that we will not let them down in this regard he added.
