Nigeria Air Force To Receive 51 Additional Equipment For Counter-Insurgency Operations

The Chief of Air Staff in Nigeria, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, announced that the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) is expecting to receive 51 additional pieces of equipment to enhance the country’s counter-insurgency and counterterrorism operations.
The news was revealed during Abubakar’s first operational tour of NAF units in Makurdi, Benue State. Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, provided the details of the upcoming acquisitions in a statement on Friday.
The new equipment is expected to include various types of helicopters, surveillance aircraft, and attack aircraft, aimed at bolstering training and air power capabilities.
The acquisitions signify the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the NAF with the necessary tools for safe training and agile airpower usage.
During the tour, Abubakar emphasized the importance of cooperation and joint efforts to address the country’s security challenges, stressing the critical role played by the Armed Forces in ensuring peace, security, and a prosperous nation.
