The Nigerian government has announced that media organizations in the country can now apply for loans at a single-digit interest rate from the Bank of Industry (BOI) to enhance their operations.
The Minister of Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this announcement during the Third Ministerial Sectoral Update at the National Press Centre in Abuja.
He encouraged media organizations to develop viable proposals to access the loans, which are part of the government’s efforts to support the media industry amidst its challenges.
The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for media practitioners and urged them to take advantage of this opportunity.
Additionally, he highlighted the government’s accountability to the public and its dedication to providing detailed and credible information through the Briefing Series.
Other ministers who also presented their achievements during the briefing include: Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo.
