Nigerian politician gives tubers of yam and cutlass as empowerment to constituents

Chairman of Obanliku local government area, Mrs. Margaret Inde has handed out one farming hoe, a cutlass and a tuber of yam each to indigenes in the area as empowerment items.

This happened during the 30th anniversary of the creation of the LGA; as well as event to mark the Obanliku new yam festival.

According to her: “This occassion provides me an opportunity to tell you how we have fared with the mandate you gave to us. But first, i want to remind us of the economic situations of local governments in the country with very little resources available to run a government closest to the people.”
