Auchi Polytechnic has ordered the immediate closure of its campus and directed students to vacate hostels as the institution commences preparations to host activities connected to the Nigeria Polytechnic Senior Staff Games, commissioned by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
The directive was contained in an official circular issued to students on Wednesday and obtained by Uptown Press Nigeria. The notice, signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mrs Felicia Etshiotse, confirmed the suspension of academic activities and the temporary shutdown of student accommodation.
According to the circular, all students living in the hostel complex must vacate their rooms no later than 12:00pm on Saturday, 29 November 2025, as the hostels will be used for other activities during the mid-semester break.
Students were advised to leave with their personal belongings or clearly label and deposit them with hostel authorities in designated locations before departure.
The Polytechnic announced that normal academic activities will resume on Monday, 5 January 2026.
Management wished students a safe journey to their respective destinations and extended early goodwill messages for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The campus closure is part of broader logistical and infrastructural preparations to position the institution for a successful hosting of NIPOSSGA-related activities.
