The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)and global tech giant Google have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in support of Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
This follows a high-level follow-up meeting between NITDA Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, and Marcus Jadotte, Google’s Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy (Cloud). The discussions centred on aligning Google’s ongoing and future investments with Nigeria’s national digital priorities.
During the meeting, Inuwa presented NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), a framework which complements President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and seeks to build a digitally driven and innovation-led economy.
“We are committed to creating a regulatory and investment climate that attracts and supports global tech leaders,” Inuwa stated. “Our collaboration with Google is an important part of achieving inclusive digital prosperity for all Nigerians.”
In his remarks, Jadotte expressed Google’s readiness to scale up its investment in Nigeria’s digital economy, noting that Google Cloud has the potential to accelerate economic development, empower businesses, and expand digital access across sectors.
“Nigeria has immense digital potential. Our commitment is to support this potential through sustained investment, skills development, and infrastructure,” Jadotte said.
The meeting highlights a shared vision between government and industry to leverage technology, policy, and innovation in building a resilient digital ecosystem that supports job creation, inclusion, and economic growth.
This partnership is expected to yield benefits across cloud services, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital skills training, helping Nigeria achieve its digital development targets.
