The National Primary Health Care Development Agency’s (NPHCDA) Department of Disease Control and Immunisation (DCI) has officially launched a three-day retreat to review its work plan for 2024 and set strategic priorities for the upcoming year.
The retreat, which began this week, is focused on revising the department’s organisational structure, ensuring that working groups are aligned with the agency’s broader strategic objectives, and establishing clear Terms of Reference for various divisions, units, and individual roles within the department.
Key activities for 2025 will be identified and costed, with participants using the Financial Planning and Programming (FPP) document as a guide to establish a comprehensive roadmap for the department’s future direction.
In addition to reviewing operational plans, the retreat aims to strengthen teamwork and foster a collective commitment to achieving the department’s goals for 2025.
By the end of the retreat, officials are hopeful that the DCI will have a unified approach and a renewed focus for the challenges and opportunities in the year ahead.
