On Thursday, the 8th of November, 2023, a total of 1,484 Corps Members took the oath of allegiance to participate in the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Service year.
The ceremony, which was held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Okada, Edo State was attended by government officials, family members, and well-wishers who came to show their support for the new Corps members.
The event, which started at exactly 10 am, was graced by the Governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, who commended the new Corps members for their willingness to serve their fatherland. In his speech, he urged them to embrace the spirit of patriotism, selflessness, and hard work, as these virtues are essential in achieving the objectives of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as the corps members, who were dressed in their khaki uniforms, took their oath of allegiance to serve their country. It was indeed a moment of pride and fulfilment for the corps members, who had waited for months to be part of the NYSC programme.
Overall, the ceremony was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of a new phase in the lives of the Corps members.
They will spend the next one year serving their country in various capacities, and it is hoped that they will make meaningful contributions to the development of Nigeria.
