The Osun State Commissioner for Health, Barr. Jola Moses Akintola , has reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to supporting MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices in delivering quality family planning and reproductive health services across the State.
Barr. Akintola made this pledge during a courtesy visit by the MSI Nigeria team to the Ministry of Health in Osogbo.
He commended MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices for its significant contributions to improving reproductive health care in Osun State since its inception in 2017.
The commissioner assured the organization of continued collaboration and additional support to enhance service delivery.
He also emphasized the need to expand training programs for the health care workers at the local government level, stating that the Ministry, like Oliver Twist, would always seek more resources to improve healthcare services. MSI Nigeria appreciates the Government’s Support
In her remarks, Mrs. Omeche Enemaku, Regional Manager (Southwest) for MSI, expressed gratitude to the Osun State Government for its steadfast support and commitment to creating an enabling environment for MSI’s operations.
She provided an overview of MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices, describing it as a leading provider of family planning and sexual reproductive health (SRH) services. Since 2009, MSI has partnered with Federal and State governments to strengthen healthcare systems in all 36 states and the FCT.
She highlighted that MSI Nigeria currently operates in 102 Public healthcare facilities across Osun State and outlined some of the challenges the organization faces in service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, commended MSI for its dedication to reproductive health services in the state. He urged the organization to expand its family planning initiatives to other non-supported health facilities to ensure wider access.
Dr. Adekunle also acknowledged that awareness and acceptance of family planning services are gradually increasing in the state, as more people are adopting precautionary reproductive health measures.
