The Edo State Government, through the Ministry of Education, has commenced monitoring academic activities across the State as pupils and students resumed for the 2024/2025 academic session.
On Monday, September 30th, 2024, the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Oviawe, led a team of government officials on a comprehensive inspection tour of schools to ensure that academic activities were running smoothly.
This exercise highlights the government’s dedication to maintaining and improving educational standards in the State.
During the inspection, Dr. Oviawe reiterated the Edo State Government’s unwavering commitment to delivering quality education to its citizens.
She emphasised that the administration, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, remains focused on creating a conducive learning environment for students while ensuring that schools are well-equipped and teachers are adequately supported to deliver on their mandate.
The inspection exercise covered both urban and rural schools, reflecting the government’s inclusive approach to education reform in the state.
Dr. Oviawe also engaged with school administrators, teachers, and students, encouraging them to remain dedicated to their academic pursuits.
“We are here to ensure that learning resumes smoothly and to reaffirm our commitment to providing quality education across Edo State. The government will continue to prioritise the welfare of both students and teachers to foster an environment where excellence can thrive,” Dr. Oviawe stated during one of the visits.
The Commissioner noted that the monitoring would continue throughout the term to ensure sustained academic progress and address any challenges faced by schools.
