Pastor Amos Isah, the founder of the Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry located in Gwagwalada, Abuja, was arraigned in court last Wednesday on allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl inside the church premises.
The case was brought before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama, following a report from SaharaReporters that highlighted the troubling details of the incident which has sparked outrage across the community. There are increasing calls for justice, underscored by fears that the prosecution could be delayed.
Pastor Isah, who was arrested on June 18, 2025, after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s father, stands accused of luring the young girl into the church’s newly built auditorium, where he allegedly locked multiple doors and assaulted her. Reports state that following the alleged assault, Isah gave the victim ₦3000 for “medication” upon noticing injuries that left her bleeding, and he reportedly threatened to kill her and her family should she disclose the incident.
Family sources have disclosed that this is not an isolated case; they claim Pastor Isah has a history of targeting underage girls. Allegations suggest that he often used his tinted-window vehicle to transport them to secluded locations under false pretences before the assaults occurred.
Despite the investigations conducted by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) being completed, Isah was held in detention for several weeks without formal charges being filed against him. Concerns mount as the remand order was set to expire, raising suspicions of intentional delays in the legal proceedings.
Sources within the police indicated that the case file had been sent to the legal department of the FCID, but there has been no swift action forthcoming, fuelling fears of possible interference in the case.
This particular incident has sent shockwaves through both the congregation and the wider public, especially given Pastor Isah’s reputation as a charismatic preacher known for his sermons on holiness and morality that frequently circulate on social media. His church, located behind Noble Noel Academy in Gwagwalada, has garnered prominence as a worship centre in the area.
The victim’s family, distressed by the drawn-out legal process, has voiced their concerns that justice may not be served. “He has been targeting minors for years. This girl is just one of many. We demand justice and urge the authorities to ensure he faces the full wrath of the law,” a relative stated emphatically.
As the case unfolds, the community watches closely, hoping for a thorough investigation and a swift resolution.
