Pastor Amos Isah, the founder of the Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, Abuja, has been granted bail of N5 million amidst serious allegations of judicial misconduct in connection with his trial for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl.
Initial bail set at a significantly higher amount of N500 million has been controversially reduced, raising concerns among the victim’s family and legal observers about possible corruption within the judicial system. Sources close to the case have revealed that Pastor Isah is reportedly leveraging his influence and financial resources to manipulate the legal proceedings in his favour.
Witnesses claim that the judge’s decision to lower the bail was made without proper consultation, as even the victim’s parents were not informed of the change. “They just held a sitting and adjusted the bail conditions without notice,” one source lamented. Further allegations suggest that Isah has been actively seeking to bribe officials in an effort to get the case dismissed altogether.
As the pastor awaits his next court appearance, his co-conspirators have been reportedly pushing for his release on the grounds of ill health, claiming he has been experiencing persistent coughing. Critics have dismissed these claims as part of a broader strategy to evade accountability for the serious allegations he faces.
Family members of the victim express their growing despair, feeling helpless as the case spirals out of control. “With the current trajectory, it seems there will be no justice for the young girl,” a concerned source stated, urging the public to speak out for the sake of fairness. “If he walks free, he possesses the means to undermine the case.”
Pastor Isah was initially arrested on June 18, 2025, following a formal complaint lodged by the victim’s father. Testimonies from the victim’s family allege that Isah lured the young girl into a church auditorium under false pretences, where he locked the doors and assaulted her. After the ordeal, he reportedly gave her a mere ₦3,000, instructing her to use it for “medication” and threatening her life if she revealed what had transpired.
As the case awaits a new court date on September 30, 2025, legal experts underline the gravity of the charges against Isah, which fall under Section 218 of Nigeria’s Criminal Code. This section criminalises the defilement of minors under 16 and prescribes penalties ranging from 14 years to life imprisonment.
