Kaduna– What began as a peaceful protest in Kaduna took a violent turn as protesters set the office of the Kaduna Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA) ablaze and looted property within the agency.

The situation escalated when demonstrators, realizing they outnumbered the security operatives, went on a rampage, setting fire to the KASTLEA office. According to our correspondent, the protesters also targeted private residences in the vicinity, looting property and causing widespread chaos.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna has yet to comment on the incident, as repeated attempts to contact him were unsuccessful.

The unrest in Kaduna comes on the first day of a 10-day nationwide protest, organized predominantly by young Nigerians frustrated with the country’s deteriorating economic conditions. The organizers have labeled this period as “days of rage,” aiming to draw attention to their grievances through widespread demonstrations.
