The Edo State Police Command has announced heightened security measures across the State in preparation for the forthcoming Eid el-Kabir celebrations, assuring residents of a safe and peaceful festive season.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to Uptown Press Nigeria by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Joel Yamu. The initiative, he noted, aligns with the Command’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout the State.
“The Edo State Police Command wishes to assure the public of its preparedness to ensure safety and security during the upcoming Sallah celebrations,” the statement read. “In line with the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, additional security measures have been put in place to guarantee a peaceful and joyous celebration.”
Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, called on residents to go about their regular activities without fear, emphasising that security personnel and equipment will be strategically deployed across key areas of the state.
The Command also urged worshippers and members of the public to adhere to security and safety guidelines during the celebrations, and encouraged citizens to report any suspicious behaviour or incidents promptly.
