Senator representing Edo South, Neda Imasuen, has called on residents of the district to seize the opportunity of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to register, replace, or update their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
Imasuen, in a statement on Wednesday by his Media aide, Moshood Karim stressed that the PVC remains the most powerful instrument available to Nigerians in shaping leadership and governance through the ballot.
He urged first-time voters who have never registered, as well as those who misplaced or lost their voter’s cards, to visit registration centres and take part in the nationwide exercise.
“The voter’s card is not just an identification document; it is the key through which every eligible citizen can exercise their franchise. I encourage all residents of Edo South to make their voices count by participating fully in this process,” he said.
The lawmaker also appealed to community leaders, youth organisations, and civil society groups to mobilise support and ensure wide participation in the exercise.
Imasuen maintained that the power of the people lies in their ability to vote, adding that active involvement in the CVR would determine the political direction of Edo South and Nigeria at large.
