Senator Imasuen Urges Nigerians to Remain Resolute at 65th Independence Anniversary

The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Neda Imasuen, has urged Nigerians not to despair but to remain steadfast, assuring that the nation’s current challenges are surmountable under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his Independence Day message to mark Nigeria’s 65th anniversary, Senator Imasuen called on citizens to rededicate themselves to the ideals of the nation’s founding fathers, unity, peace, justice, and tolerance, while offering sustained prayers and support for the government’s efforts to positively transform the country.

He reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to reviving the economy, addressing security concerns, and tackling other pressing issues confronting the country. According to him, the administration is resolute in its drive to reposition Nigeria on the path of growth and stability.

“The labour of our founding fathers remains a beacon of hope. At 65, Nigerians must recommit to their vision by promoting national unity and solidarity, regardless of our differences. With good governance and the right economic policies, we can overcome our challenges,” he said.

The Edo South Senator also pledged the continued support of the National Assembly in working with the executive arm of government to enact legislations that will strengthen governance and facilitate the implementation of key programmes and policies.

Reflecting on his mandate, Senator Imasuen paid tribute to the people of Edo South for their unwavering support. “This occasion reminds me of the good people of Edo South who set the stage for me. Without them, I would not be part of this journey to a greater Nigeria. I celebrate these great Nigerians,” he said.

As the nation celebrates its 65th Independence anniversary, Senator Imasuen expressed optimism that Nigeria’s best days lie ahead, calling for collective commitment, patriotism and resilience.
