As Muslim faithful in Edo South Senatorial District, across Edo State, and throughout Nigeria prepare for the sacred celebration of Eid al-Adha, Senator Neda Imasuen has conveyed warm felicitations, urging a spirit of reflection, compassion, and unity during the festive period.
In a goodwill message released ahead of the Sallah celebrations, Senator Imasuen encouraged the Muslim community to embrace the core values of Eid al-Adha – faith, sacrifice, and service to humanity.
“Eid al-Adha is a time to renew our devotion to Allah, to make sacrifices for the common good, and to demonstrate love, obedience, and compassion,” he said. “It is also a moment to consider how each of us can contribute meaningfully to the peace and progress of our communities.”
The Senator stressed that while the government has a critical role in driving development and ensuring security, citizens also have responsibilities in fostering lasting peace and growth.
“Peace and development are collective duties,” he noted. “We must all support and protect government projects, champion local initiatives, and work closely with one another to build a stronger and more secure Edo State.”
Senator Imasuen also called on the public to remember the needy during the Sallah festivities, describing Eid as a time to show generosity and kindness.
“Let us not forget the less privileged during this holy period. Even a small act of giving can transform lives,” he added.
He further urged the Muslim faithful to offer prayers for continued peace, stability, and unity in Edo State and across the nation.
Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-El-Kabir, honours the obedience and unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim and is observed with the traditional sacrifice of animals, shared among families, friends, and those in need.
