The lifeless body of Inspector Haruna Mohammed, a senior officer in the Nigerian Police Force, was discovered early on the morning of Saturday, 15th February 2025, in a hotel room in Ogun State. The police inspector had checked into the Super G Royal Hotel in Oyeyemi Akute with an unidentified woman around 1:00 am, but by the time hotel staff discovered his body several hours later, the woman had disappeared.
Hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, made the grim discovery at approximately 8:52 am when she found the door to the hotel room unlocked. Upon entering, she found Inspector Mohammed dead. The woman who had been with him earlier was nowhere to be found.
According to hotel owner Abiodun Olagunju, the female companion had visited the reception at around 6:00 am to request table water, but after that, she was not seen again. Mohammed’s body was later transported to the Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe for further examination.
The police have classified the incident as a “sudden and unnatural death” and have launched an investigation. The police are also attempting to track down the missing woman, whose identity remains unknown. Authorities have confirmed that the deceased was wearing his police uniform at the time of his death.
A police memo on the matter, shared by the Ajuwon Division, described the circumstances of the incident in detail. Investigators have already visited the scene, taken photographs, and are conducting further inquiries into the incident.
The search for the woman continues as police work to uncover more details surrounding the mysterious death. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
