Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, has announced a temporary withdrawal from the pulpit following sexual allegations that sparked controversy around his ministry late last year.

The cleric, who is also the founder of Grace Nation, made the announcement during the church’s New Year’s Eve service, telling congregants that he would be stepping aside for one month to engage in personal reflection and spend time with his family.

His decision comes in the wake of public accusations made in December 2025 by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, which have generated widespread debate on social media and within religious circles.

While Pastor Okafor did not directly address the specifics of the allegations during the service, he framed his decision as a period of introspection, urging members of the church to remain steadfast and prayerful as the ministry continues under interim leadership.

However, the announcement has failed to quell the controversy. Reacting to the development, Doris Ogala questioned the adequacy of the pastor’s temporary withdrawal, insisting that stepping down from church activities alone does not address her concerns.

In a public response, the actress demanded clarity over what she described as an unresolved situation involving her brother, suggesting that more explanations are required beyond a brief hiatus from the pulpit.
