South-West Governors Launch 262-Page Masterplan to Boost Regional Growth

Governors of the South-West states of Nigeria have unveiled a comprehensive regional economic plan designed to drive development, enhance security, and foster inter-state collaboration. The blueprint, titled “Plan of Action for the Economic Development of the Region, Nigeria”, was presented in Ibadan at an event hosted by the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, in partnership with the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission.
The 262-page document covers key sectors including transportation, security, agriculture, education, governance, and industrialisation. Oyo State Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, representing Governor Seyi Makinde, highlighted the importance of improved infrastructure and regional security strategies.
Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi of Osun, speaking on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke, reaffirmed support for state policing as a regional solution to insecurity.
