Several fuel stations are presently shut down in the Federal Capital Territory, resulting in extended lines of vehicles at the limited number of outlets that are selling Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol.

Downstream oil sector operators have indicated that the situation arose following the suspension of operations by the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners. This action is in compliance with their earlier announcement to halt activities starting today, Monday.

On Monday morning, the filling station operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited situated on Arab Road in Kubwa, Abuja, was not open for business.
