Suicide Bomber Kills 10, Injures Seven at Borno Fish Market

A suicide bomber believed to be a member of the Boko Haram terrorist group struck a bustling fish market in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State late on Friday night, killing ten people and injuring seven others.

According to local sources, the attacker gained access to the market disguised as a civilian before detonating an improvised explosive device amidst the crowded stalls. The explosion caused widespread panic, with traders and customers fleeing in terror.

Rescue workers and security personnel quickly arrived at the scene to evacuate the injured, who have been taken to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment. The area has been cordoned off as authorities investigate the attack.

Borno State has long been a hotspot for Boko Haram’s brutal insurgency, which has claimed tens of thousands of lives and displaced millions across Nigeria’s north-east. Despite military efforts to counter the group, attacks targeting civilians and soft targets continue to occur.
