The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Group C for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they will face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. The official draw for the tournament took place on Monday evening, 27 January, at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco.
Nigeria, who have lifted the AFCON trophy three times, secured their place in the competition after topping their qualification group with an impressive 11 points. The team scored nine goals and conceded just three over the course of six matches, showcasing a solid defensive and attacking performance.
The 2025 AFCON will take place between 21 December 2025 and 18 January 2026, with 24 teams from across Africa competing for the prestigious title. The teams have been divided into six groups, with Nigeria now preparing to battle it out with Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania in Group C.
Other notable teams in the tournament include hosts Morocco, who are in Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and Comoros, as well as Egypt, South Africa, and Senegal, who are set to face tough opposition in their respective groups.
The Super Eagles will be hoping to build on their strong qualification form as they prepare for what promises to be an exciting AFCON in Morocco next year.
