Rasheedat Ajibade, a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish Liga F club Atlético Madrid, the Nigeria women’s national team, the Super Falcons and a devout Christian, remains committed to spreading her faith on various fronts.

In a post on Intagram, she wrote, “James 1:27 reminds us that genuine religion in the eyes of God entails compassion for orphans and widows in their times of struggle, while resisting the world’s corrupting influences.

A few days back, I joined forces with my like-minded friends on a heartwarming journey to a Makoko slum in Lagos, Nigeria. Our mission was twofold: to extend acts of kindness and to share the gospel’s light (Mark 16:15).

“The day brought a mix of emotions. On one hand, witnessing the receptive young souls, children beaming with promise, and parents embracing hope, filled my heart with joy.

“Yet, it was also a poignant experience. The sight of the distressed environment, dilapidated homes, and the immense challenges these resilient people face on a daily basis, left me profoundly moved.

“Our journey reminded me that there’s immense beauty in uniting for a cause, shedding light in the darkest corners, and sowing seeds of hope. Let’s continue to spread love, kindness, and positivity, making a difference one step at a time.”
