Reports reaching Uptown Press have it that sensational Nollywood actress, Reginal Daniels has moved out of her matrimonial home following a series of alleged assaults by her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
According to multiple sources, the Nollywood star left her husband’s residence in tears and with visible bruises after what was described as a violent altercation. Regina was quoted as saying, “I cannot stand the violence again — it is too much. In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen.”
Family sources told Uptown Press in a telephone conversation that the confrontation between the couple escalated after members of Regina’s family reportedly witnessed the lawmaker physically assaulting her. The actress is said to have moved out of the marital home, vowing to end the marriage.
Unconfirmed reports also alleged that thugs loyal to Senator Nwoko attacked Regina and her siblings during the altercation.
Meanwhile, Senator Ned Nwoko has publicly acknowledged that he and Regina are facing serious marital issues but denied claims of domestic violence, instead accusing his wife of drug and alcohol abuse.
In a statement released on Sunday, the senator said:
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety. I have other wives, and none has ever accused me of violence.”
He further alleged that Regina had become violent in recent days, claiming she had assaulted domestic staff and destroyed property. He said he had proposed rehabilitation in Asokoro or Jordan, which she allegedly rejected.
However, Regina’s mother, in a video obtained by Uptown Press, was seen weeping uncontrollably, alleging that her daughter’s life may be in danger.
She said: “If anything happens to my daughter, the public should hold Senator Ned responsible.”
The situation has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the actress’s safety and calling for authorities to intervene.
As of press time, neither Regina Daniels nor her legal representatives had issued an official statement regarding the alleged domestic abuse or her current location.
