President Bola Tinubu’s upcoming private visit to Paris, France has been confirmed by his Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. The details of his visit have not been disclosed. However, it is expected that he will return to Nigeria during the first week of February 2024.
This will be Tinubu’s third visit to France since he took office as the President of Nigeria eight months ago. His first visit was in June 2023, just three weeks after he was sworn in as President. During that visit, he attended the Paris Summit for the New Global Financial Pact, where he joined other world leaders to review and sign a new global financial pact. The focus of the pact was to prioritize support and investment for vulnerable countries that had been affected by climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
In September 2023, President Tinubu traveled to New York to attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly. After that, he went to Paris for a five-day stay before returning to Abuja on September 29, just before Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day anniversary.
Although the reasons for Tinubu’s upcoming visit to France have not been disclosed, his previous visits have been focused on diplomatic engagements and discussions with world leaders. It is likely that this visit will also be aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic relations with France and other countries.
