Tinubu Orders Full Probe Into Killing of Woman, Six Children in Kano

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the brutal murder of a woman and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano State, condemning the killings as barbaric and unacceptable.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life, extended his condolences to the bereaved family, and reiterated the federal government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

President Tinubu also commended the police for the swift arrest of principal suspects linked to the killings and directed security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of those responsible.

The assault on the family, which occurred on January 17, 2026, shocked residents and reignited concerns about security in the region. Authorities say unknown assailants forcefully entered the home before inflicting fatal injuries on the victims.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command, acting on intelligence-led operations, has arrested three suspects believed to be connected with the crime, with further investigations ongoing.

President Tinubu has urged security agencies to complete the probe swiftly and ensure justice is served, emphasizing that such heinous acts will not be tolerated.
