The Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME), Maj.-Gen. Oladele Arogundade has called for constant training of officers and soldiers to ensure optimum performance and professionalism.
Arogundade made the call at the 2025 training and inauguration ceremony for combined eight distinct courses for officers and soldiers held at NASEME in Auchi, Edo, on Tuesday.
He said the training was aimed at building capacity for optimum performance and professionalism in the Nigerian army, in tandem with international best practices.
Arogundade said that the newly introduced training packages is aim to provide students with a more comprehensive and relevant learning experience, better preparing them to meet the complex challenges of modern military engineering.
“The combined inauguration ceremony marked an important milestone in the NASEME calendar and sets the stage for a productive and successful training year.
“The training focused on producing highly skilled and professional military engineers and technicians for the Nigerian Army,” Arogundade said.
The NASEME commandant who emphasised the importance of professionalism in their conduct throughout their stay at the institution, urged them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and respect in all their interactions and activities.
He advised the students to approach their studies with seriousness and dedication, highlighting the critical role that continuous learning plays in their professional development.
He urged them to fully utilise the resources available at NASEME and to engage actively in all aspects of their training.
“NASEME is not just a place of learning but a breeding ground for future leaders who will uphold the values and ethos of the Nigerian Army.
“Variety of new and enhanced training packages have been introduced for the 2025 training year, designed to enrich both the practical and theoretical learning experiences for the students”he said.
The inaugurated courses includes EME CCC, Officers Armoured Fighting Vehicles Course, Instructors Course, Warrant Officers Management Course, Field Guns Maintenance Course.Others are; Advanced Armour Artillery Weapon Instrument Course, Basic Armourers Course, and Upgrading 3 – 2 Course (All Trades)
